Three generations of artists who use triangles and diamond shapes: Eva Slater, Miriam Slater and Erin Carmean.

Art is truly "all in the family".  Eva Slater, her daughter Miriam Slater and her grandaughter Erin Slater Carmean all incorporate interlocked triangles and diamond forms in their art, but in a manner that is unique to each artist. The paintings at the top by Eva Slater are done with oil paints on panel in the 1950's and 60's. The table and letter box (done in lacquer and acrylic on wood in the 1980's) are by Miriam Slater and the intricate zen mandalas are by Erin Carmean more recently.

  1. Fascinating and gorgeous progression. Another proof that artists are born, not made.
